Was it a nice brush? Any ideas on your kit with the broken screen? Have you thought of just making an un-faired model? Show off the engine etc.

Cheers Dusty. It's sitting next to the RG Gamma. They look kinda similar. Almost the same wheelbase and of course, the colours are the same!

One for Dusty. I had one of these kits before and built it but it was missing a lot of parts and never looked right. Long gone now. This kit is intact though the decals look a bit yellow...and they are unobtanium. Never mind, I'll give it a go! Alex

This kit is pretty basic and not very well made but that actual SPV body is surprisingly good. Already built up the chassis. Getting those tank tracks to fit was a nightmare but all sorted. This kit comes with a proviso for a small electric motor, never saw the point in those as the model would just charge off towards the nearest wall and destroy itself...but it has given me an idea. Instead of the motor I plan to fit a 9v battery and switch and make up some front and rear lights. Alex

Back to this SPV. Lots of decals need to be 'constructed' as you only get the basics. Front bumper for example... And on the roof... Also discovered an issue at the rear end. With the tracks in place there are huge gaps in the bodywork... So I cut up an old DVD box and made a couple of parts... Wiring next! Alex

I made a couple of little holes and glued in the front lights. These things are superb, £3 for 10 and they run off a 9v battery that sits in it's own on/off switch. Then tried using the very, very old decals. 2 sets of identical ones in the kit so the seller must have had 2 kits at some point? Both are nigh on unusable. Bit of research and the best method to save these is to spray them in lacquer, then cut around them and try again. I sure hope this works... Alex

Thanks mate. I managed to save 5 of the 6 decals needed. The one that is missing is the large Spectrum logo that goes on the bonnet. Going to ask some of the sellers on eBay if they can make me one. If not, it'll still get finished. In fact it's 95% done now.

Bender 'Bending' Rodriguez. 0ne foot tall 3D printed kit for about a tenner off eBay. I had to modify his hand to fit the 1/12th scale bottle of Corona. Well, he is Mexican! Alex

Superb!
Ive told this story before, but my old Golf MK2 16V Gti Turbo technics was called Bender due to its antenna on the roof. I was all set to buy the plate B3NDR for it... and then I realised most people might not understand... lol... I was hovering over DVLA's BIN key for that until sense kicked in lol.

I think that was a wise move mate. In the USA 'bender' means something that bends...in other countries however...

Alex have you tried soaking them yet? If not I have some special stuff you coat them in that keeps them complete.

Soaked overnight. Then tried the lacquer idea. Both ruined so nothing left to salvage Tim. Thanks anyway. I think they were about 40 years old so amazed that 5 out of 6 worked.

Done. The lighting idea was a good one I think. I've tidied up the wiring so you can't see it now and put the aerials on. Alex

Not sure if I’ve posted this before? Apologies if I have. These are updates for a variety of bikes they aren’t cheap and not all are available. I’ve bought quite a few bits of them. Often the kits and decals are £100 and you need to supply the original kit as well. www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~uta/
