Can anyone recommend a decent video camera that doesn't cost a bomb? Ideally one I can use in a car and on a bike...

Be interested in this too, had some cheap go pro copies in the past, but cheap for a reason.

The ones on eBay are all the same but the prices vary wildly. Cheap Chinese stuff and the feedback on them is dire. There must be something decent out there.

Having used a mates GoPro 7 and watched a bunch of reviews on cheap action cameras, I would say you are better off getting a second hand GoPro 7/8.

I have had a few Go Pro copies over the years, some good, some not so good but they all seem to fail quickly, possibly due to vibration on the bike etc, I'm not sure.
I then bought a refurbished Go Pro 3 direct from Go pro at about copy camera money and it still works perfectly 5 years later, I've bought new batteries as the batteries seem to last about 2 years but apart from that it has never let me down, I now have added the Go Pro 10 which is an excellent upgrade to my current GP3.
