Well someoneโs buying it! Yes most likely chainsaw Charlieโs and scooter kids but I wonder if anyone has the cajones to run an RD on the stuff. Maybe back when our bikes came out this type of oil was a fairly standard choice? Andy

it says XL, so its only for big ones.
Perhaps its for a Trabant as its Carlube. Motorcycle in East German at that time could be Trabant, they were 500cc 2 strokes.

It's JASO rating is FB, that's the lowest since FA which was officially obsolete 2005. It ok for low powered stuff but it's unlikely to meet chainsaw and decent hedge trimmer requirements, they rev far to highly. Think my Echo requires FC or FD and the Stihl likes FD, they are WOT when cutting so it's unlikely those sort of machines will last long using this. Car lube also offer a synthetic which is FC.
Only use Motul 710 now in the bike, probably overkill but my it runs clean on it. Many years back, oils were not so advanced so this might well be better than what some used in their bikes. I wonder what the quality of those in the pump action cylinders was like at petrol stations ๐คญ

Heard of people swearing by it on old aircooled bikes but personally I wouldn't use it
Especially when you can get 5L of Exol fully synth for under ยฃ25 delivered

Back in the day a bike dealer who'd just got a huge display of new oil in tried to tell me I should be using Rock Oil cheapest 2T in my RD as 'it is an old bike and the pump needs a thicker oil to work... plus its cheaper too'. Yeah, thanks for that advice. lol

its all I ever use. Not had any problems with it. I know a few lads that run their 2t track bikes on it. its as good if not better than a lot of the stuff we had back in the day.

I'm still going through a ton of Valvoline semi and fully synthetic oil from Halfords, when they cleared out their stocks a couple of years ago.
Before that, had a load of Motul 600 that was sold off by Hein Gericke when then shut up shop.

Back when i had my LC, I put whatever was cheapest in it and certainly was sympathetic to the bike, I even did some courier work on it for a bit but she never let me down.
Now we are older and wiser, we can choose something of a better quality and ironically, perhaps ride more with more consideration and cover much less miles, no reason to knock it, not everyone needs or wants to spend a fortune on premium oils and fuels.

Looks like I have found something I used. In those days, one size fitted all

To be honest, just happy to see two stroke oil sold anywhere these days, bar the gardening shops.

I got caught out by the oil light coming on in the middle of nowhere. Stopped at a garage and all they had was Carlube 2t. I had no choice. I was on the 31k. I'll get me coat
