Hi Chaps, Could any of you point me in the right direction to buy a replacement pulser coil for my 350 4L0 please?. I’ve checked on Fowler’s website, and it looks as if it’s only available on the NLA stator assembly. I’m also assuming this is the correct terminology as I’ve always called it a pick-up or trigger? 🙃.
As ever TIA, bezzer

ones for LC's not so easy to come by, never found anywhere that sells them, plentiful for the YPVS models, but they don't fit the LC stators and are incompatible

Thanks for your replies Stusco & Mutts, looks like the search is on for a ‘previously enjoyed’ unit then ☹️

I got in touch with a chap who did rewinds and he said he could repair it . Sent the stator and he repaired it . I would give you the chaps number but i think he has retired .

No worries Steeley, sadly these small businesses are falling by the wayside year on year, with no youngsters up and coming, or remotely interested to learn ‘niche’ skills. I live near Crewe, a town with a heritage of engineering (Rolls Royce, Crewe Locomotive works, midland Roller makers etc), where there were dozens of general engineers, plating shops, fabrication businesses at one time, now you’d struggle to get anything done!. Sad times.

I should imagine the guys that rewind the stators could rewind that, (unless the mechanics are damaged) . Not used them myself but think they called West Country windings.
FYI, that pickup is the same as the one in the AC 250/400 E/F

Thanks for the info Pete - every days a school day on here! 😁. And Dave, if your man can repair/rewind please keep us informed mate, although in this case mine is missing completely, so I don’t have one to send to him! 🙃.

You could remove one from a faulty stator. I have done that in the past to replace one of mine.

Thanks Jess, That’s very kind of you. I’ll wait until OEB has had a chance to look first, out of courtesy if that’s okay 👍🏻.
Cheers mate, Iain.

Bezzer, the bolt holding on the pickup coil was super tight on the one I removed, so expect a fight!
I fitted a nice stainless cap head screw after.. :-)

Thanks for the info Rob, mine is missing completely, so I don’t have that to contend with at least 😁. I’ll definitely be doing the stainless cap head mod though.
Thanks again buddy. Iain.

If you don't get sorted, let me know. I have some faulty stators, but they are buried...

Update: Coil is now sorted, after jessy03 very graciously sent me a spare he had. Without this forum and it’s fantastic members, I’m not sure this problem would have been resolved. Many thanks to everyone who offered help and advice, and especially to jessy03 for supplying the item.
