That's for the funny speed sensor diode thing that is linked to the indicator cancel circuitry, and goes in the slot at rear of the speedo housing.

No, you didn't send me that part. It's usually part of the clock sub-loom and just clips into the rectangular slot at the rear of the speedo. Was that on the speedo that you did for me? No, you didn't send me that part. It's usually part of the clock sub-loom and just clips into the rectangular slot at the rear of the speedo. The self cancel bit seldom works so wouldn't worry about that myself, but you will want to connect up the speedo internal light which is powered from the same sub-loom, or wire it into the equivalent tacho internal light on the other sub-loom, as they normally come on together.
If you don't fit the reed switch into the speedo housing, tape over the slot to avoid dirt ingress into the clock.
