Seems that this is not available anywhere now. It’s the metal shim plate that goes between the sliding caliper and mounting .Anybody know if it is available anywhere?

From memory doesn't the manual show a shim under the stainless plates with the return edges? I know mine didn't have anything under that plate.
By shim are we talking about the two parts with the small edges on or something under them?

That’s the ones 9 and 12. No longer available. ☹️ If you are desperate and have to have OEM parts, Google the part numbers, there are usually a few available on eBay in the states, listed with exorbitant prices and even crazier shipping. OEB

wow good spot Nigel! id never noticed them in the 250 parts book, the 350 doesnt show them at all. Is that and early/late thing? we dont have that here it seems. Not sure how we work out the other side, but they must exist id have thought. something else must have used these calipers....

What do these shims actually do? Are they a shim, spring or simply a cover to keep grit out?

I had the same issue: missing shim ...just cut a 0.5mm piece of shim to the right ship and installed... perfect... clunk has disappeared and caliper feels solid £2 for a big sheet from ebay
