Not quite the "glamour" of living and riding around in the U.S of A.
I wonder how Mad John's kids are nowadays...would be about our age now

I used to go to the Bulldog Bash many moons back and the HA were quite a presence then. That was 30 years ago and don’t hear so much about them now. Maybe the outlaw biker thing has been replaced with the drug dealing, people smuggling organised criminals we read so much about today. Police action documentaries on tv show the bad guys are still out there. Just wear different colours these days. John

It used to be a fun weekend.

Still a fairly large following of various chapters across the country, not usually in peoples faces as they were so many years ago, our local chapter does an awful lot of charity fundraising aimed at childrens charities and support for ex service personnel.

Not quite the "glamour" of living and riding around in the U.S of A. I wonder how Mad John's kids are nowadays...would be about our age now Frisco HA's were a constant presence when I lived in Mission District San Francisco in the 90's No obvious HA's up here where I live in Portland, Oregon. Lots of lesser patch clubs tho. Mongols, Outsiders, Gypsy Jokers, Free Souls, Brother Speed, Vagos, etc. No redeeming qualities whatsoever as far as I can tell. They usually they keep a pretty low profile, and we don't hear much about them til they do something exceedingly stupid. Case in point, the president our local gang of ne'rdowells, the Gypsy Jokers, is currently on trial for murdering a fellow GJ member who tried to quit the club. nwhog.wordpress.com/2008/05/08/outlaw-motorcycle-gangs-flying-colors-in-oregon/

I used to work with a guy - Cliff "Biff" Cox, a Geordie and a real character - really funny, hard as nails and a great colleague. He was into bikes, and joined a club called "The Nordic Brotherhood" !. We used to take the piss out of him mercilessly over it, but he was really into it, and ended up as the Vice President ! They were a feeder club to a bigger club called the Vikings, and although they looked menacing, they seemed a decent enough bunch. Anyway, one day in 2014, Biff had a massive Cardiac arrest at work, and collapsed and died in the Fire Station kitchen, and despite the best efforts of the crew, he couldn't be revived As is tradition, Biff had a full Fire Service funeral, but with a difference. A huge turn out of bikers from his club and affiliated clubs escorted his coffin from Guildford Fire station to the Crem, and joined the Guard of Honour of Firefighters. We spoke to a lot of these guys afterwards, and they were a great bunch - a real brotherhood who would do anything for each other. I've never witnessed anything like it before, or likely to again. I found a vid on Youtube;
