Is it possible to fit Norbos Banshee coils to a RD400D fitted with a Newtronics Electronic ignition?
If yes does anyone have a wiring diagram or can explain?
Thanks
Paul

No…you cannot mix use of cdi coils with points systems or their ‘transistorised’ upgrades.

I have no idea on aircooled BTW, but Isn't a coil the same whether it's an AC or LC YPVS etc, one LT pulse fires both cylinders/wasted spark etc. So if 'Banshee' coils are no good, couldn't you fit a Dynatek?

the points A/C only fire once per cycle no wasted spark

Also wasted spark aside, the LT voltage on points coil is 6v,12v etc whatever the battery voltage, with cdi (capacitor discharge ignition) the LT voltage, ie the capacitor voltage is 100+V, so totally different coil winding rations and impedance are required.

And thats why we are on this forum. A wealth of knowledge and helpful as well.
