Well, I don’t usually do threads on my builds as I generally don’t think they are as good as some of the stuff built on here. But what the hell its finished now.
I bought this unregistered import from Fozzy17 in January 2020
I always like to get an import registered as soon as poss, just in case the rules change, some with some parts that came with it and some good deals and donations from good Lc people I got it to this in a couple of months
Mot in March, sent the stuff for the reg in March then lockdown happened, got the reg in June
Had a couple of runs on it, improving bits and pieces got it running ok.
Went down with chest pains in October spent a few days in hospital, diagnosed with heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
Now looking at being of work for a good while, so come the start of December i had some strength back so stripped it down.
My mate and i fitted new centre stand brackets to it to future proof it so a stand can be fitted if need be
The bike came with a 4L1 bottom end but I picked up a set of 4L0 cases to rebuild the engine into theres a guy a few miles away does vapour blasting so got them done
Along with a load of other stuff
Painted the top end and baked it
Painted the switch gear and baked it as well
Fork legs were vapour blasted and rebuilt with new seals
Everything came back from the coaters
Spoke faces and rims of wheels were vapour blasted then masked (nightmare) painted with Simoniz tough black
This was never going to be a green bolt build so fitted a Yss shock and progressive springs
Calipers powdercoated rebuilt with new pistons seals etc
Split the footpegs had the parts powdercoated and rebuilt them with new rubbers and bolts instead of the rivits as i said its not a bog standard build and its my bike an thats what I wanted
Steve Midlifecrisis regeared the the kmph speedo for me and fitted the new face and a needle while he was at it. I used a new top case but reused the old bottom. I like an Rd dash set up so its pretty standard looking
New levers and the refurbed switchgear
Rear wheel
Buy this time(March) it was time for pipes and paint after much deliberation went for Tygas
So we had this
New tail unit from Rob and side panels from Norbo an off to the painters.
5 Months later !!!!!!! I got the paintwork back
The paints amazing and the stripes are done in paint not decals but what a wait
So this is my bike built by me for me, its got some slight mods but thats what I wanted all you seem to see on Facebook etc is bog standard Lc’s
This has mainly stainless bolts throughout except the engine cases, I have an aversion to allen key heads
Yss suspension, cut down front muddy, recessed rear light with a lovely chavvy clear lens.
Oh and rebuilt Crank from grampian every bearing and seal changed, new pistons and rings. Silicone rad hoses. Braided hoses in black and one of Als horn covers. Its my bike and I like it
Thanks to Steve for always replying to my texts the airbox and various other things 😀 Norbo Chris Clack Al Kelly.Mike Jefferson, Colin Mcgugan Arrow for doing the pump, Rob Hammond and anyone whos helped me out with bits
