Pretty much says it all... 'Just put it on the road after a rebuild and can't rev it too much... But it 4strokes mightily just off idle up to 2500.. Is this normal for an lc? Seems to clear it's throat up to 3500 but I don't want to fraz it (just yet!). All Carb settings are standard (for 4L 100). I've never had a lc before and am wondering if this is how they drive. Starts first kick though with choke. Many thanks for any advice from members..

Welcome to the forum.
No doesn't sound normal.
Some questions for you: Is everything else stock? (exhausts, air box, air filters etc) Did you remove the brass ball and clean the air circuit in the carbs? (plenty of info on here if you use the search function) Did you use genuine carb brassware? (Some rubbish copies out there) Have you balanced the carbs?
Probably something simple, but tracking it down can be tricky.

.... and have you the correct plugs and plug cap? One has to be resistor type, the other not.

Many thanks for the advice. Everything as far as I see is standard, the carbs were ultrasonic cleaned and the air circuit blew clear but I didn't remove the brass plugs (wary of ending up with two scrap carbs!). I didn't realise that only one of the plug caps is resistor terminated.. Although the ignition/coils look original the spark is weakish (definitely not fat blue!). Is there any way of checking plug cap resistance and does it matter which one is terminated? Hmmm, lots to mull over!

The plug caps are the same as each other. You just need to make sure that if you have resistor plugs that you use non-resistor caps or if you have non-resistor plugs that you use resistor caps.

Sorry if confused you with the plugs/caps, but Rob clarified. From what you have said, I'd definitely be getting my balls out, very common problem and not difficult to remove/clean/replace if you take your time.
Make sure carbs are balanced and quality brassware used too.
