Probably worth trying 2 part epoxy (Araldite).

Whats best way to stick, glue repair a side panel lug. Mines broke of from panel. I glued a side panel lug back on my RF900, its lasted over a year so far, I have pulled the panel off a few times too, I used plumbers plastic pipe solvent cement, you normally have to ask for it at the counter, but you can get it from anywhere that sells plumbing supplies. I roughed up both surfaces to get a good key for the glue, it melts them together better when done like this I find, give it 24 hours after gluing before fitting to give time to cure correctly, or longer if you can.

Abs is more like a thermo harder then a thermo plast. I found epoxi and a bit of fiber the best

Hi Tony, interesting, does that stuff actually melt the plastics together? (I always thought it looked a bit weak but didnt realise it melted the pipes ) Sounds like a good alternative to heat

(I always thought it looked a bit weak but didnt realise it melted the pipes ) Sounds like a good alternative to heat It used to melt pipes together without any roughing of the surfaces, ever tried to get some old glued pipes apart, not possible, everything around the glued part would break 1st, its not as powerful as it was, hence the roughing of the surface.

One side of my tab has broken off, I am molding a new tab using Black ABS Plastic Pipe Cement, making a crude mold with blue painters tape. I am finding that you have to build it up in thin layers, I am almost finished and it looks to be very strong, I will shape it with dremel.

Don't use that plumbers plastic repair in the middle of a panel. I used some and it distorted the panel, could still be seen even after rubbing back and a repaint. It's quite lethal, strong but lethal.
