I have thought this in the past , but look at the Nortons, Triumphs not to mention Brough's. I think the buble will outlast us all. 😆

I don't think our bikes will be worth much in 20 years time... Who's gonna want them enough to warrant that money? Not many kids want a bike these days, let alone an 'old' one. Even less can be arsed to pass their test now that you have to sell a kidney and jump through eighteen hoops to get to being able to ride a 33bhp commuter. I guess it's down to your definition of "worth much." A few years ago I heard of a guy selling his 350LC for £4,500 and he said he sold it because he couldn't turn down that offer. I was surprised how much he got for it but in 2021 that's nothing. If you spot someone under 50 at a regular bike haunt it's quite unusual. Hardly surprising as the government have been trying to discourage people in various ways from riding bikes as long as I can remember. There still seems to be a lot of kids riding scooters around as if they are trying to commit suicide though so the fresh organs are still flowing into the hospitals. One of them yesterday doing about 30 on the pavement parallel to me for a hundred yards or so (I was on the road ). His passenger didn't have a helmet on, just a scarf around his face. He joined the road behind me and I made a point of putting distance between us.

There’s an old boy in our village, wobbles arround on a MZ he’s had forever…he’s 80 something and still enjoys his bike. A good few of us hopefully will also make it into our 80’s…which is 20 years down the road… This debate will rage until then !

I have thought this in the past , but look at the Nortons, Triumphs not to mention Brough's. I think the buble will outlast us all. 😆 The bubble for those did burst though, same with classic cars. It's cyclic and follows economic changes. They've risen again now because interest rates are low so no point keeping money in the bank and/or money is cheap to borrow, but the classic vehicle bubble does burst from time to time. Might be a bit different for us, in the classic car world prices are mainly driven by speculators and people buying them to hoard and sell, but we ride our bikes. Although if interest rates go up anyone with debt or not very attached to their collectables will probably start selling.
