Hi, my 1981 2fiddy LC has acquired a bigger hole in the rev range, just before the powerband. Say between 5 and 6 and a half. Flatter than a whitches tit. . . i have just taken the restictors the 4L2 exhaust and this was the result. more in the powerband, wiv less outta the powerband, especially around tht 5-6 range.

Are you running 4L2 carbs, if so have you rejetted to OEM 4L1 settings? OEB

thanks m8. Yeah, the bikes a 4l2 german import. I have altered the main jet, from 170 to 190, not touched the pilot jets, even tho they are slightly bigger, 22.5 instead of the 4l1,s 20. This shouldnt have an affect the the midrange. I havent got super narrow screwdriver,to remove them, either. I have spent a day on the needle jet clip postion and its a better compromise on the third groove then the yam spec fourth. I also went down a tooth on the front spocket, 15 from 16. Its bang-tidy, now, considering my 15 stone 6,3 frame, lol. 95mph never felt so good.

If you are running the 170 main instead of a 190 you will end up starting another thread about holing a piston ☹
Also your 22.5 being rich and 170 being lean is really going to mess up the transition from one to the other

Am running 190 main, 22.5 pilot, standard unrestricted 4l2 exhaust, standard airbox wiv snorkel removed. thanks steve. iv a german 250 that was the same when i fitted nikons. mines now 200 mains, standard pilots. one groove weaker on the clip and its running sweet as a nut.
