Just put my 350pv pipes on my 250lc and its made quite a difference, engine revs up alot quicker, where as with the standard pipes it just wouldnt rev up to 8 grand!.So is there a difference between the 250 and 350 expansion chambers and which pipe is the best for the 250

is your 250 a German import, some of them have a restrictor and some don't..
standard pipes are slightly different between the 250 and the 350LC, more holes in the plates that the baffles slip through for the 350..

Depends on what you want performance wise ... I put Mutts Nutts mid range on my standard 250 power comes in @ 5k sounds like old skool microns but perform way way better in mid range . Worth a phone call to Dave if you can get hold of him or look on his website for more info Cheers Andy

Also, TSA can make one off pipes for optimum performance, but they are not an off the shelf item, so may take a while to get done.
If you are after more power, may be worth getting a 350 conversion or 370 Fahron type big bore.

Echo the comments about a 350 or 370 conversion. You also need the carb setup for whichever capacity, intake and exhaust you are using.

Already have a 350lc and N1 pv was just looking to make the 250 more fun I've got an order in with TSA at the moment, not sure how far he is but you could try and contact him as it might be easier to do the same 250 pipes at the same time if it's for a 4L1.

I spoke to Dave about some 250 pipes a while back and the demand was not high and the theory was that the 350 wouldnt really be ideal on a 250.
Also, the ypvs and LC have different pipe needs etc. So I am interested to see some dynos of 250 engines with whatever people fit. Of course within the ypvs there is also 51L vs the other cyls and perhaps the 51L has different needs as well. Always interested in 51L stuff as people know as I have two of those engines.

The 250 ypvs pipe issue is a problem. Spoke to someone who had tried different pipes and they went back to the standards as everything else destroyed the midrange. Even standard 350 pipes My 51l standard pipes have just went for black ceramic coating and cans went to Dave Swarbrick to get new alloy ones made as the 250 ypvs motor is rev happy already Steve

Please do keep me posted when you get em back and fitted, I'd love to know what they are like for sound and valve etc.
