Finally got the engine back in and running today, if you read my post on pv adjustment iv checked the cables are the right way round so would still like opinions on weather that will be ok or not but on a different note when I got the bike running I can't stop the right hand carb from flooding, it did it a few times before the re build but would stop with a tap on the side of the float bowl, now it won't, when it was apart I stripped the carbs cleaned with carb cleaner and blew them out with the air line I set the float heights as per workshop manual, the float valves looked OK the tip was still soft will a new float valve solve it do you think?

Well done mate, nearly there, the power valve on mine turns clockwise to the two o’clock position and back, when the ignition is turned on. Hope this helps. Hopefully back on the road soon.

As well as the needle tip there is an o ring around the brass seat
These tend to perish
I always just fit repair kits as a matter of course now

Usually just Tourmax kits from Norbo
Needle valve, seat, o ring and bowl gasket

Are the valve seats push fit, just pull out?

There is a retaining plate held in with a screw
After that they just pull out

Exactly the same issue on the float valve with my F2. Right hand side sticking occasionally and then getting more regular. Couldn’t detect any noticeable wear on the valve but those O rings were in a perished state. New kit from Norbo (£12.00 I think) fixed it immediately.

If they haven't been out before the brass seat might take a good pull to get it out lol, I used the Norbo ones and they are really good and far far cheaper than genuine ones

Have to agree with that big time. I took mine out for the first time this year and I really, really struggled getting them out.
Needn't have bothered as they were spotless!😩
