I forgot to put the damper spacers in when I put my engine back in the frame. Has anyone else done this? Is it worth going back and putting them in. My old ones are worn so I’d probably order new ones which equals more time.

yes, fit it. You need it. Front Left and Rear Right. Its fiddly to add the front one in, but the rear is simpler as its on the plate side. use an spare long bolt to hold the engine where it was (as needed, depends on how you bolted it all in) and create/use some wiggle room, if you can find some lol. Get new ones. FWIW use the banshee version as it has more damping and is cheap enough as its cheaper than the other versions: US$11 each. www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/2GU-15328-00-00

So there's not 4 of them and just 2?

Agreed, fit them. 2 off diagonally opposite as above. You can fit without removing the engine.

When I removed my engine due to the cracked case, no dampers were fitted, ordered from Norbo a fresh pair
Didn't feel that vibey without them in.

They are supposed to help reduce the twisting of the engine, along with the tie bars. They probably don't affect vibrations.

FWIW my non-tiebar 4L0 came with them missing and after fitting them I was convinced it reduced vibration.
Easy to fit, support the engine with some small wood 'chocs' between frame and engine

They used to say i think ecthed into them? but the rubber to the engine from memory, tho it should be obvious when you put it on the engine.

Thanks for this Jon - I looked closely and “down” is etched into (I wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t mentioned it) it so can only fit one way.
