Well, I was sitting here thinking about the above subject and thought maybe it would be a good thread to discuss favourite bikes (past and present) and which of the bikes you currently own would be the last to go ?. Like most of you guys I should think I've had dozens of bikes over the years, CB500's, FZR600R, CBR600, various Blades, CBR1000F, Blackbirds, R1's, Fazer 1000 (with Ivan's Full Monty Tune), LC's, RD400's, GSXR this and that. Currently in the household we have a 2002 GSXR1000, 3x GT250 X7's (one std and two very much not), a 10W MK1 RD125LC and 2x 1974 FS1-E's. The GSXR1000 I've had for several years but only use it on track now. It's such a tool (just like me some of me mates say ;D) that bang for buck it's virtually unbeatable. Even in Jan 2010 Performance bike they have a completely std one (142hp at the rear wheel) and it has pretty much identical straight line performance as the K9 1000, i.e. 1mph down on top speed, quicker from 0-100 etc. etc. My RD125LC is such a laugh (I still can't believe how quick they are) and pretty much worthless on the open market so that isn't going anywhere in the near future. For the last year or so I've had a 4L0 350LC (std tune but well sorted) and a Taymar Stage II tuned F2. Both great bikes, the 4L0 bags more character, the F2 (with N2 front conversion) way faster but neither really did it big for me, so they've both recently been sold. The Fizzes are good fun (Stupidly expensive I think) and have a real strong scene (even about 60+ turned up to the Ace recently in Monsoon conditions), so they should be a good laugh next year ?. Which brings me to my last and favourite by far, both now and when I had one when I was 17, my GT250 X7. So light and quick almost feels like an LC 350 on steroids to ride, though I realise part of that is due to the fact that they are so light and significantly shorter geared. And the noise they make with K&N's and small can Microns fitted is so so cool. If every bike had to go and I could only keep one it would be the X7 by a country mile ;D I know it's not an RD and some may be offended, if my userid is revoked from this moment on I totally understand

My Spondon for sure, makes my fuel injected R1 feel gutless in every area. Wheelies in 3rd off the clutch at 125mph, shes putting out around 160 at the wheel and is a bag of laughs to ride, no good for mad speeds with no fairing but for sheer buzz nothing beats this bike...............funnily enough for enjoyment of the machine my LC is top, not for going fast but for relaxing on and just enjoying the ride and the time warp feeling. So thats a close second for a diffrent reason.

looey i regret ever selling my one true awesome bike....yep ...my X7...it was beckett tuned miccys as yours has k&n's and rg 250 carbs...i am not joking this bike did 130 mph and ate lcs i really am gonna find another and do what i did to mine in the 80's i kid you not... however i love my 125's and at the bbq of norbos i had the smallest bike in the pack and jazzy and the rest may confirm it was quite quick.... still i fooking enjoyed it and thats all that matters!!!!! must of overtaken jazzy at near 90+ or so...but he will confirm lol.... Yeah I don't think anyone who hasn't ridden a tuned and well setup X7 could believe how well they go. In 1983 when I had TPL 220X it was in a pretty high state of tune by ESP Performance (Eric Block) and I remember guys having brand new RD350LCs thinking we'll show him on that X7 !!!. Well upto 100mph not a chance in hell..... by by miss American Pie ;D Looking forward to you getting an X7, should be wicked .

Any my Stever baker now and the black red gold Kenny roberts 250 i would have to say are my best bikes right now.

Difficult this one but last one i'd part with is my 1990 ZXR 750 H2 owned it from new, its in bits in the garage,it was going to get a restoration job but a certain lc happened along very cheap. Cost me £300 to buy and get through an mot, before i stripped it i never got it running right but what a laugh, brought back so many memories good and bad, with a bit of luck it'll see the road again next summer. currently riding a gsxr 1000 k4 stupidly quick handles spot on and i love it.
best bike i ever owned hhmmm probably a 99 blade got totalled by a blind driver 2 years ago, it did absolutely everything well, toured the south cost on it 2up for 10 days and finished off with a track day at brands, then home for supper, couldn't do that on the gixer i'm too bloody old hahah.
most fun bike has to be my first legal one at 17, brand new 1976 DT 125 almost completely lived on it for a year then on my 18th it gave way to a 74' RD 250 B and then a succession of strokers of all kinds yam, kwack, suz, and a 250 moto guzzi weren't many of them where i lived, and all that took me up to the ZXR in november 1990
second best bike i ever owned
EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM
and pulling one from the garage and firing it up still brings a grin even after all the bumps and bruises, you guys know what i mean but try telling that to someone who's never ridden one

You know one bike I've always hankered after but never owned (YET) is an H1 or H2 ZXR750 In August 1989 I bought a brand new CBR600FK (G37 KGO) and my mate bought an H1 ZXR750. I was jealous and wished I'd bought one of them instead The only positive was that I was about 6 stone lighter than him, so in a straight line they were pretty much identical ;D

i have only got a fireblade now no LC,s to be seen sold all 3 bikes to buy a 500lc 2 years ago then circumstances conspired against me so i sold it this year. my favorite all time bike was my brand new RD400 DX IN 1977 I was 17 and just passed my test , it was KR yellow. it didnt last 12 months before it siezed near Ilkeston on the M1 on the way to brands . everything was good for me in 1977 , started work, found sex pistols, pubs, met my Julie ,no worries, everything was fun. maybe rose tinted , but the 400 reminds me of them good old days. steve

There are a plethora of bikes I'd like to own (sadly even a Honda nr750) but i have only ever owned Yamaha's.
Brand new RD50MX, px'ed for the second love of my life the RD80LC. Next was bought a rear end written off Saudi import DT125LC Mk3 ypvs, = the hybrid. I also have a TZR250R 3xv1, RD125LC Mk2 future project and finally a TZR50R import future project.
The 80 is by far the favorite bike, fettled before the ypvs when in, homemade porting, full ledar kit, micron, bigger front sprocket etc etc. used to race any and all local 125's some beat me but many were embarrassed. reason for the ypvs was my mates moved up to bigger bikes i wanted to prove that a smaller bike could surprise them and for the 8 months it was on the road (before it was stolen) it did.
Hence the rebuild last year, OK its 99% done but next year it will (?) be finished. For me yes its speed but knowing you can surprise 'anyone' on such a small bike with speed, ability, and 'style' makes me smile every time......
