anyone tried or have an FZR or Mito rolling chassis with an RD/RZ 250/350 engine attached to it? I was checking some stuff for my hybrid built since most of the engine parts are either arriving late or delayed so I'm just doing little by little of check and puzzle pieces. I'm also looking on changing my RZ250RR original frame to a Mito or an FZR 400/600 series.
The Mito rolling chassis can be sort of thru international sellers if ever I'm lucky enough to find one while the FZR frames can be bought locally.
I might be needing any valuable information that can help me up with this one.

I don't know about the FZR 400 chassis but the Mito has had 350 YPVS engines fitted to it loads of times, I've even seen an engine mounting kit listed on ebay in the past. If you do a search on YouTube for Mito 350 YPVS, then you will see a load of videos of this combination.

As above there is a kit for the Mito
As for the FZR I would worry that as it was made for a 4 cylinder the twin would be lost in there

It's been done lots of times as stated, and a fairly simple thing to do (sorta!). I've wanted to do this myself and the main thing are the engine mounts that can be bought of the 350 Mito site as Dusty listed. The forks need modding too. Unless you go for some other type of fork?

I did research about the MITO YPVS hence it fascinated me up with that project but also finding a rolling chassis would be a problem for me since those mito are nowhere or rare to find back to my country and can only be source thru international sellers.

Alex well true further researching I did stated that changing the fork to a better one is the way to go for stopping power mostly folks uses ducati 9xx series for their front forks.

On a similar note I'm doing the opposite. An LC frame with Mito front and rear ends. For me the only issue is locating the rear shock but the FF Brembo single disc will be more than enough to stop the bike!
