Centre stands, clocks mph or kph, rear grab rails, rear footrests are very rare, that's what I found on my last 250 build ,not so much rare just bloody expensive, not as bad as vintage bmx stuff though ! Now that's just ridiculous ๐

The most sought after part of the LC is its sound and feel...
...............
Many of the hard to find parts are now available as pattern, the main stand is just most recent example. Also many parts still available new from Yamaha, front mudguard for example and others are common between 250 and 350.... the Pattern list now includes, tank, side panels , rear mudguard, horn bracket, horn cover,
So to make a general comment you can deduce the hardest to find parts are outside of this group.
Single most expensive item?.....pair of 4L0 barrels on low bore.
Most expensive in terms of ยฃ/kg ? ....Coil cover/tidy
Most rare?.....alloy fuel cap,
Hardest part to 3D print or soft tool?......number plate bracket
Most desirable intangible item? ...the imprint of a few similar numbers stamped into the frame and engine ๐๐๐
Think thatโs enough headings to make a set of top trump cards ๐...

The most sought after part of the LC is its sound and feel... Have to agree with this ๐ Just got back from giving mine a shakedown run through the local lanes and can still hear the 'ring ding ding' in my ears!

Good standard 350 exhausts difficult to get. Plenty of cut up or 250 seem to be about, but as I'm trying to get my previously badly bodged 350 running properly in near standard tune. I don't want to add another unknown! ( settled on 31K ypvs ones for now, as I had some in reasonable nick, and it likes them ,more than the microns, anyway)

Would love for someone to tell me Iโ wrong but original seats particularly the bases I know itโs possible to get foam and covers but decent bases are firmly in the rocking horse dodo category

Headlight adjuster bracket. Aren't these remade now
Rare parts as mentioned are the ones you need LOL
Number plate holder , clock wiring, side stand, good LC radiator, wiring loom,
Think it's still amazing you can still get new LC switch gear, clock covers, radiator cover,
I guess the radiator and clock covers don't fit anything else , so what is the reasoning at Yamaha about this ?

Bare is right...should qualify , only rare if you donโt have a personal stash ! Iโm sure the folks of this manor could account for a significant quantity of whatโs out there hidden away. But if you are a long term hard core RD nut it goes with the territory!

With the recent drop ('bottom has fallen out' Ive seen written) of the LC market... has anyone let the parts sellers know yet?
If they have, from what Ive seen, I dont think they got the memo...

Funny thing there The value of complete bikes has fallen but parts for maintaining or building them has stayed relatively high Yes centre stands are no longer ยฃ300 but still pricey Interestingly my parts guy who had previously said importing complete bikes for breaking was no longer viable has recently bought in and broke bikes for parts ๐ค Steve
