It does annoy me when I read ads stating RD350LC, when in face it is a 250 with 350 cylinders and ancillary's (I guess). All he is doing is storing trouble up for the future, as when the buyer realises that 4L1 means 250, he is going to be pissed. Just goes to show what I minefield eb can be to the unwary . There’s been a few like that as of late Chris, looks like the Sanctuary hybrid is also a 250 in disguise . Some Folk are also listing some of the spares as 350 parts , carbs, pipes , wheels etc, suppose you need to study the pictures ( which probably form part of the description , lol ) and drop the seller a note if unsure..

I know exactly where your coming from and agree it should be advertised as what it is.
However, I don’t understand why quite so much emphasis is put on U.K. matching numbers 4L0 bIkes. I understand they are rarer and command a higher price, but in the real world are no better than an import 250 with non matching numbers and 350 bits?
This goes especially for non standard bikes, which this one is. It kinda suggests it in unmolested, but doesn’t guarantee that even.
Now you might say I would say that as I have a U.K. non matching numbers 4L1 hybrid with 350 barrels. But I can honestly say I have looked at the numbers twice. Once when buying and after powdercoating. Neither time was I disappointed or wished they matched.

As long as you know what you have and enjoy it that's how it should be

I think with these bike's, any buyer would be someone who knows exactly what numbers mean what, its a niche bike that only a certain demographic are interested in.
Not right though I agree, adverts should be clear and concise.

Not convinced on that rigga, we are for the most up to speed but generally the core of this site have been around the bikes for years, however if you look at the questions posed by new members to the forum quite often they ask similar things. The problem is if you suddenly hanker after one and don’t do your research they can be real money pits.

Not every buyer knows what they are looking at. If anyone doesn't do their home work when lashing out upto £10k, they deserve to be fleeced... Fill your boots bawbags, I for one would cherish telling them "250 pipes, 250 carbs, wrong passivate shade, wrong bolts, 4l1 means 250, awwww mate.... you've bought a mish mash of 2 and 350 bits" (rather than the usuall mish mash of 250 only bits and the mish mash of 350 only bits.)
