I have just rebuilt my F2 with a crank rebuild and rebore with new pistons and rings.
My typical practice after this kind of work would be to keep it below 5K rpm for about 500 miles in 20-50 mile stints, and then start to open it up progressively until 700 miles. At which point I would consider it done.
This process feels about right to me but I’m wondering what other people do after this kind of rebuild?

First 50 miles like a pussy
Next 50 miles gentle 5k max
Next 200 Not holding more than 5k, not labouring the engine but letting it go to 6k at times going through the gears
Next 200 letting it rev a bit higher and starting to load it up
By 500 miles it's done
I've done it shorter and rougher too
Its not an exact science, lots of ways to do it but the gentle 500ml break in was the textbook way
I did 6 heat cycles followed by 6 running heat cycles (warm it up, ride 2 miles at 6-7k then let it cool) then ragged it but that was forged pistons bored with a bigger clearance

Re torque head after 1 or 2 heat cycles. Think Yamaha used say after 500miles.

Heat cycles too and re torque 2 or 3 times too
