Rebuilt my front master cylinder and when I put it on the bike and filled it with fluid it weeped from the sight glass. So drained the system and removed the sight glass, came out easy, just punched a hole in it from the back and pulled it out with pliers. This is what I found! No wonder it was leaking. It had a bit of sealant on the back edge obviously doing no good, the o ring must have been sat right on the score marks. I take it this is scrap now.

Personally I wouldn't risk it. Brakes are important.

You can get decent copies from Norbo for about £50? Or less I’d get one of those for a 250 improve your brakes at the same time.

Just when you think the spending is over! I'm sure it will be worth it in the end Like you say it's the brakes so no compromise, thats why I have totally rebuilt the system with quality parts only bit I never even looked at was the glass Live and learn
