Thinking of skimming my Mk2 flywheel, has anyone done this and if so how much should be skimmed off. Also, is there any noticable improvement to bike performance? Supposed to improve acceleration, be higher revving and be less of a strain on the crank and bearings.

Norbo sells lightened flywheels, on exchange basis.

I know Norbo sells them but I have a spare flywheel and access to a lathe so thought I might have a go myself. Just need to know how much to machine off.

Start with 1mm off both faces that's what Fahron takes off, he did one for my moped X1 Suzuki. It spun up quicker faster throttle response

Hi there I’ve done mine I don’t take to much off and remember not to turn the pick up location down and be careful not to get it to hot as it will melt the glue that holds the magnets on I get no vibration

Out of interest does it affect balance/vibration on LCs at all? Yeah it needs to be Re balanced but not many if anybody does it or have the means to do it. Kiss goodbye to those crank bearings. It’s balanced from new for a reason.
