Evening all. What does everyone use to fix the rubber screen trim to the fairing/screen? I've seen superglue mentioned but i'm a bit reluctant to use that. I'm sure someone said to me once to use silicone sealer. Anyone else use this? I know the mechanics at work use it to stick signage to the sides of transit vans? Thanks. Mellow

After a repaint of my YPVS, I ordered new rubber trim from Yamaha for both windscreen/ bikini fairing and rear cowling. I didn’t use anything to attach them. Just stuck them on and they have held for 2 riding seasons and not moved at all.

Hairspray works well for the rubber handlebar grips - initially lubricates to allow them to be slid on (I usually warm the grips first) and then when dry acts as a glue to keep in place.
It might work for rubber trim too? Not tried it, its just a thought.

Not heard of the evo stick🤔 I've purchased some JB Weld black silicone sealer and adhesive. Their other products are good, so this should be👍 I guess no one has used silicone before then?🤔😁👍

Evostik was popular with the local yoof where I came from, however... they were more into sniffing it rather than fixing two things together. Its a really strong bond done properly. The non trade (red packaging) offering is crap now...like nitronomores.

The part number youre running is likely nla, but the type of generic trim is still available in other lengths. Yam did this trim in many lengths from about 5cm to close on 1m. When the exact sized ones run out the part numbers say NLA, but just get a longer one and cut it up, thats all yam did from a big spool of the stuff and bag it when new. 29L-28376-00-00 is an example. Its from the earlier bikes and is long enough to do two rear cowls or a front and rear on an F model etc.

The part number for that trim is 10W-28376-00 so looking at that part number it's the same stuff so maybe ill get some of that thank you

Ahh ok, probably should have put that it was a 125 as I assumed it was a 250/350 as most posts here are about those bikes. Tho I bet the trim is the same, yam were a bit 'one trick pony' with stuff like this as we know/

you will be pleased to know i bought some genuine Yamaha stuff. Fits lovely. apart from just on the tight corner. May stick a few small dots of sealer there as it flares out slightly. Thanks all
