Bought a scabby YPVS rear master cylinder off fleabay
I's in not great condition but the plunger was seized in the bore (not mentioned in description), so filled it up with WD40 and gave it a tap to move it down and clean the area and hope the spring made it pop out again
That didn't work LOL
So how can I get it out ?

Can you drill/tap and use a puller?
I had an issue on a front M/S and ground a step in some old pliers to pull out.

Connect it with a brake hose to a working M.C.. Then you can push it out. Then you can see, that the cylinder bore is corroded beyond repair. How I know?

Remove the rubber boot, circlip, retaining washer and pushrod so you are faced with the cup end of the plunger. Loads of WD40, push the plunger inwards as far as you can with a Philips screwdriver. Hold the cylinder in your hand (like a grip) and slam the open end down onto a wooden surface really hard. Push the piston back in and keep repeating this until it comes out.

You can use a grease gun like you do with calipers

You can use a grease gun like you do with calipers Steve I thought of that, but when the piston moves past the small holes ,all pressure will be lost, but at least it moves from the bottom of the cylinder.

Hi , there is a chap advertising in one of the bike mags says he can reclaim them by machining them and fitting a sleeve . Thats good news, that will save many oem ones, I've one that's been attacked by some eegit with a sharp driver and left deep scratches in the cylinder, and one thats just worn out.

Very true unless you leave the plastic elbow on and blank it with a bit of pipe 😁 Personally I'd bin it and just buy an r6/r1 Brembo Steve

The Brembo one should still be 1/2 inch so the gen Yam kit should go in it
You need the ypvs fittings anyway to make the rod long enough

I did drill it and put an M6 tap in and as i was twisting it in to get a good purchase , the force made the plunger turn then the spring made it pop out
