Only thing I see wrong pipe wise is the 2t pipe between the pump and reservoir should go on the inside of the engine mount plate with the 3bolts through and over the top of the rear of engine
You did ask π

Superb work Chris and great that you have the machines, the skills to use them well and a great knowledge of the bikes. I'm just starting my rebuild but I'm unfortunately not blessed with any of these characteristics.

And I must say I've seen loads of beautiful builds from guys who don't have the engineering background and they turn out fantastic bikes ππ

Well the pressure test revealed we had a leaky base gasket π‘, so this morning we stripped it out ,added a smear of threebond built it back up ,re tested and now found we have a small porous hole in the barrel,FFS π so stripped it off again, now I'm looking at running a small weld over the hole to seal it up . Thought I'd share as normally ( posts) are all good and how things are going well so makes a change to have a bugger it post ! Oh well sure ill sort it for him π

Seems to be a common place to leak there on a lot of different bikes. How are you going to seal it?

I put my barrels and head into the blast cabinet and used some Sealey shot blasting grit which gave them a lovely finish ready for paint.

A long time ago i helped a work colleague seal an area of an engine block that was porous. Basicaly you spread loctite on the area and then pressurize (low pressure) it. The loctite goes into the pores and seals it. Do you want me to inform about which loctite was used and the method?

I had that thought too but thought instead of pressuring the engine you would create a vacuum and it would suck it in

Chris, looking at the pics closely, might it be a small crack? I wonder if the cylinder was dropped on that corner at some point in its life?
