How old is the bike? You can tell from the first 3 letters of the frame/engine number! If I'm wrong can someone correct me! MK1 - 10W MK2 - 2HK There are some other differences too, mk2 had a smaller front wheel, a different caliper, a different front mudgaurd, different clocks (all the same as the very first TZR125) If it's sill got the original engine in the engine and frame number should be the same, if this is the case the mk 1 clutch cover had what is described as an old telephone style (ie 12 little circles around the wors Yamaha, whereas the MK2 didn't - www.carls-rd125lc.co.uk/gallery20.html - that's a mk 2 one Also, the Mk2 had clip on handle bars, whereas the Mk1 had one bar bolted on to the yolk! You may have a bike built up from bits which could have mk1/2 parts! Put some pics up!

yeah my frame has got 10w stamped on it its 1985 b reg and the engine has the 12 circles in it so i am guessing that hes changed the front end at sum point because it has the clip on handle bars forks and yokes.which is a shame really because i wanted to make it all standard and original that's just made it a bit harder for me to do thanks again

You're looking at finding handle bars, forks and yolks to put it back to standard!
I may be wrong but it may handle different with mk 2 forks on, is the front wheel smaller than the rear?

its got the standard Mk1 wheels on it still when i striped it all down it looks like he has had spacers made up to take the Mk1 wheel with the Mk2 forks. if i got hold of a top yoke off of a Mk1 would i be able to modify them to take the Mk2 forks have them bored out or would that make them to week?
