Must admit I was watching it till the end and half expected the last minute snipers to appear!😁 But no......it was stuck on £6100 for a couple of days!
Just wondering what my one's worth with only 7k miles on the clock!🤔

I suspect it's due to it being a US import
I think it did really well considering it needs a light resto at best
The anorak brigade would be frowning at the 48h frame number, catalyst warning light and non original pipes 🤣

I know it didn't say in this advert, but normally DK say "we had the bike running on easy start and may need some attention" - You think so?
They do have some good bikes now and again, but a lot is beyond economical repair.

Top money really , hope someone’s happy with their purchase.. i sometimes think the price of LC’s particularly 350’s is outrageous but when you look at how much folks are asking for some bikes ( undesirable stuff ) the LC looks an absolute bargain, ,, the ultimate 80’s hooligan machine 🤪

If I remember correctly, a 350 4L0 in UK was around £1100 to buy new in 1981. According to inflation calcs that would be around £3800 in todays money.
So with decent matching number UK bikes now reaching up to £10k then its not a bad investment.

Unless I’m missing something I would of thought a painted up UK bike was worth a shed load more than a US bike ??

Depends if you want a original KR, U.S. only. As we know genuine bikes are (Have) dried up and won't be coming back, it's been discussed at length, a decent import is a better bet than a Uk, just my opinion mind. Andy.

Perhaps Im wrong (it has happened before, maybe, I think?! haha), but I never understand the appeal of the KR bikes outside the US. These are just the USA model colourway, they dont have any KR sanctioned go faster goodies, ie. they dont have a single seat conversion or any go faster parts. So, tis just a normal USA RZ350. No bad thing. But as has been said - they had cats when new which slowed em down. Now, if you like the colours and maybe were a KR fan then its possibly a dream to own one, especially in the yellow as thats not normally seen outside of the USA. But, well, to me... nah. lol Anyway, what is interesting is that in USA museums* where they have RZs the bikes I saw were all this yellow colourway. I would say that the yellow harked better to the KR race teams and that museums were hedging their bets that the yellow would be the one to have in the future. Interesting stuff as the USA market has only really 'come on' in recent years, prices lagged behind the UK/EU/Aus for many many years and USA bikes were often cheap and some were very low miles. 'muricans obviously had more money than us back in the day and bikes were cheap to buy new even for guys our age and must have depreciated badly as you often find guys with all their old ones in the back of the garage still, I never had that option and always needed my old bike as deposit for the next one. I wish I had been able to keep my old steads... I guess DK noticed that stuff as well and started shopping in America for classics once Japan became tapped out. DK (and others) had been raiding Japan since the 90s, its surprising anything was left in the early 2000s let alone now lol. * - Edited to add this as im sure people will ask: Lane in Nashville, TN - great little place with off beat selection of cars and a few bikes www.lanemotormuseum.org/collection/motorcycles/item/yamaha-rz-350-1985Barber in Birmingham, AL - in my view the best motorcycle museum in the world, certainly the best ive ever been to. www.barbermuseum.org/Im sure i saw another over the years, but cant remember where...

Now come on.....(sounds a bit Basil Fawlty) you ain't telling me that this ain't the best looking LC2 (RZ) that Yamaha ever produced.😁 If they had released the KR Competition Yellow model in the UK they'd have sold bucket loads of them. Especially in the 80's when King Kenny was ruling the world!😀 Just look how popular the coffin tanked Competition Yellow RD250 and 400's are! But hey....... I guess I am a bit biased.👍

Haha, I did think my opinion might not be shared by everyone I reckon if you live in the USA and had one of these back in the day then its all you need, its just that abroad there were plenty of other models back in the day and some are arguably better to ride. I just dont get excited when i see one in the UK market, its a niche sale i would think. Trust me im very happy these bikes do exist. Ive ridden one in LA traffic and had a ball a few years back.

I think that particular example would currently fetch similar money here in the States.
Maybe a bit less, but at least $6k +
As Jon has said, prices on these lagged all the way thru the 90's and mid '00's but has recently shot skyward.
Dunno why exatly, but I certainly wish I had bought one a decade ago.

In the U.K. we only got the white/red with red frame and the black/red with black frame as far as I know. I guy I know raced a pale blue/white one. It was the only one I ever saw at the time and I never thought about it but in later years it turned out that it would have been probably a French import. In recent years I've heard a few people say how much they like the pale blue/white colour scheme. My opinion is that it's just the rarity of it that appeals. It obviously the white/red with red frame that's the best colour. BTW that's what mine was Not completely true actually though because the guy I bought mine off had crashed it and fitted a black nose cone and front mudguard so mine was pretty odd but unique. At the time, 1983/4 he couldn't get hold of the white/red parts second hand. I waited an extra couple of weeks so I could have a black LC rather than the red/white, blue/white combination. At the time the black had just come out and all LC's where white so I wanted the black. The LC i'm doing now I want to be white because it's my favourite but can't decide on blue or red. Originally it will have been the three stripe black as it was registered in August 1984. I have got 2 and a half sets of bodywork so I could have both!

Steve whilst that is a valid consideration and as you state is only your opinion everyone else knows that the black and red was quite simply quicker however due to its stealth like ability people don’t realise.

Conversely some classic cars have plummeted. E Types for example. FHC for £20K or convertible for £30K. With MOTs. Unreal. OK they aren't the type 1 cars but the later V12s...still damn cheap.

Alex When the early ones are that money I'll swap one of my 2 strokes for one lol. Sadly car prices are just going mental here in Aus, everything 80s and 90s seems to have at least doubled, but the older stuff is lagging behind as I think it was already expensive 'enough'.

There are a bunch of 'investment' sites that have been talking about cars and bikes that were tipped as investments. Stuff makes me cringe. Wrong kind of buyers.
