Wouldn’t be so bad if was all there but there’s too much missing for it to worth it

Looking at the pictures and description, it might have been easier to list what was there, not what was missing!

I think listing what it hasn’t got and many other words as in the description are a vague attempt to convince someone to buy it , roll up roll up !!😂

Looks like that tactic worked, 1 bidder already.

A bit more chance to look at this and... Geez, this is the total bottom of the barrel really. So much missing and everything in such awful shape. Its like this is cobbled together from the pile of rejected junk parts from another build (or three).
Even I, who usually start with a frame wouldnt start with this, even at a cheap price - which it isnt. Its spares only at this point i reckon. Its just been too badly treated, had 'farm hand style' "maintenance" and generally been unloved for too long. There is little to recommend it at all. Especially at this price. Who ever bid on it I hope knows what they are doing and isnt starry eyed about the old LC they had back in the day and letting those stars cloud their judgement like they have their vision.
This one really is a money pit. Better to pay more and get one that isnt just a pile of old junk.
I believe that's what the seller found out as well. Look at the last pic, the parts he/she bought are optimistic at best. Oil, cables, a headlight and a tyre. Nah mate, you'll need some actual chassis and engine parts, not just the 'old bike tune and tidy up kit' for this one. Sadly 90% of those parts are junk as well, lots of aftermarket in the 'spares' that most of us here wouldnt bother with. The sellers idea of 'have that running by the weekend' didnt happen, nor will the buyer's.
Some might say that this is a long term project that will suck a bank account dry and strain any marriage if the Mrs isnt keen on having a bike around the house and thought you grew out of it years back, but I still say its just spares really. Im going to lay a bet that the frame is bent, a lot of these imported junkers had bent frames. They were the worst LC the uk had ever seen and must have been bought 'in country' for scrap value.

Only wants an extra £450 for the spares

In Venezuela, that is classed as a minter! Actually, it does not look quite as fooked as those Nuneaton eBay specials. At least the front wheel is not touching the rad, so frame does not look trashed.

Like JonW says, cheap aftermarket junk, maybe the tyres are worth something?? think it’s all a smoke screen to create the illusion that Someone else has contemplated restoring it, you’ll certainly need more than them few bits to sort this scrapper out 😂

Cheers Gunny!
Sounds like a reasonable bloke in the advert. Still the extra 450 notes for the (in my view) useless parts is a poor show, they should be included really.

It’s an absolute bag of s##t I feel sorry for anyone who buys that they’ll have all these wonderful thoughts about a pristine Lc and it will never be one. It’s a 250 with questionable barrels? What size are they? Condition? Been converted? Properly? Unlikely. Someone is going to buy it and end up into a right money pit with a bike that is unlikely to ever be worth the financial investment, you always have to ask why is it being sold? What does the seller know? The spares as well he basically wants retail for what he has bought. Nope I’ll pass. You’d be better buying a decent one for £6-7k with history or provenance from here.

Definitely money pit of the month more so than the last money pit on here, perhaps when the auction/charity finishes we could award it money pit of the month, send the seller a tacky little plastic trophy from the forum, give him little bit of shite back ??

I think the bidder might be Carlos the Venezuelan diego who purchased the bike brand new in 1981 and now wants it back ,the other bidder is probably just a random retard.

What is it about Ebay..and the UK ? All reports (in North America) suggest ebay is fading fast. Perhaps Time ? to delete any Ebay links and go 'Cold Turkey" on it.
