Hi all in the process of putting a 1985 German reg 31k box bits together. What clocks and top fork bracket are on this 040300 serial? I only have an 84 French parts manual but as I am missing the clocks I wanted to be 100% before buying. Cheers John

Yes sorry top yoke. The forks I have don't have the step in the tube and was starting to wonder id they went away from kidney clocks at any stage. Confirms what I thought originally - I bought a box of all sorts.๐คจ

My forks have a black plastic cap. 83 and 84 should have an alloy fork top with the air valve coming out at an angle with a chrome dust cap on top Steve

85 registered in Germany I'd be tempted to say it's not an LC2 31k
As Matt says 85 was f/N model
Does it have a fairing bracket on the front of the headstock?

Steve The headstock silver tag shows 31K as type but I've never seen an F / N so I don't know. The fairing and bracket is missing so I was guessing. If it's not 84 31k makes no difference to me it's not going to be a matching numbers restoration.

Does the F1 have mounts welded onto the headstock to support the fairing bracket?? if so an easy check or is it the case of 'fitted to others' like the side fairing brackets??

Usually silver fork bottoms, 83mm caliper mounts and front muddy mounts onto a brace bolted across the forks
N/F are similar but black lowers and fork top has a hex with the air valve in the centre like yours. Similar black cap screws on top

As Steve said 85 forks had a nut under the plastic cap and later forks had a retaining clip like yours
