There just seems to be an absolute sh1tfest of it at the minute
Last week it was "BT" with illegal activity on my internet connection
This week it's an international call that shows as a UK mobile number from "the technical dept of my internet provider" saying I have a massive amount of data going through my router.
I hung up at that point as I've heard of the scam
They want you to go to your computer and open a web page. It's one of those ones IT companies use to take control of your computer
Absolute shower of sh1tes
Rang twice today between 8 and 9
Thing is I can't not answer anything just now as my son is in the shielding category so waiting for a Covid jab appointment

I had one last week from barclays saying my account was in need of attention, some person of Pakistani origin, asking me all sorts of security questions, I was suspicious so hung up,, checked my account online and was all fine, called barclays who said if happens again log the number and send to us as no problems with account!!! Dodgy b*****ds try anything , I know they do route calls through India barclays that is, but refuse to talk to someone who let's say can't speak English to a point they can and I can understand a sodding word said,,,, but they knew who I banked with dodgy,, asked me security questions, wot payments I'd made recently,, alarm bells rang and hung up,,, so beware folks there are lots of scams out there,, if unsure who it is your cominicateing to,,, period DON'T,,,,

Im a very suspicious person and tell genuine people to just f**k off. I've found it is always the best policy....all though my ex vicar would probably disagree... but he can f**k off anyway....
PS The double glazing harassing sales person did look rather shocked when I told him to "just f**k off" Maybe it was a new experience for him........ sadly.

If you are on a BT line, after you have answered and hung up, dial 1572 and follow the instructions, it will block the last number that called you.
Doesn't stop them calling you from another number but do this each time, but only if you are on a BT line.
