Yep those were the days I remember buying my candy blue MK1 RD125LC (A598 SGT) brand spankers from Sanderstead Motorcycles for £829 in December 1983. I wasn't 17 until the following February, so it spent a couple of months sitting in the shed in the garden. I'd get the bike out of the shed once a week and start it and run it for a while. Then on my 17th birthday week I took the rest of the week off from work and did 300 miles 2 days running to run it in exactly as per the owners manual. The very next morning it was brand new Allspeed on, needle moved one clip and oh my god.... how fast was that bike for a 17 year old jumping straight of a Fizzy Mind you the one I have now which also has an Allspeed fitted feels every bit as fast now as I remember mine being back then which is surprising given the modern fast bikes I ride as well . I have no recollection how much the Allspeed was new back then ?.
