Yep, as Steve said, Lc and Pv will fit, as they are the same engine, mount wise. Seen a few different ways of doing it too. Not the easiest swap to do though; 20180610_182352 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

You can also fit Lc cylinders onto an Ac bottom end. Obviously needs other components and work to do, but that's basically what early Tz's were (watercooled top end on an Ac bottom)

I was thinking of doing this years ago when myself and a mate of mine were bringing a 250e back to life. I had an idea for the rad mounts to bolt on and i was going to run an electric water pump . In the finish it didn't happen .

There's pro's and cons for complete engine vs top end of course. The aircooled engine has 4 mounting points, only 1 of which you can readily use (front, top engine bolt), 2 can be ignored, so the only 1 to sort is the rear top mount. I found the frame part of that mount would foul the Lc engine so you will need to do something with that for sure. I cut it off the frame tube, fitted and centralised the engine in the frame, and then did a bit of CAD (Shreddies box this time !) to design new rear mounting plates that were then copied in steel and welded to the frame. Front engine mount needs 1 spacer each side as the Lc engine casting is narrower. Exhaust exit is critical as Ac downpipes went out and around the frame downtubes, not inside them like Lc/Pv, and it's quite narrow between the tubes in comparison. Allspeeds work but it's tight ! So keeping the Ac bottom end saves a lot of work, and an Lc top end would only require engineering for the rad mounts. But, the Ac engine is a fair bit heavier than an Lc, so if weight saving is key, Lc beats Ac. I didn't have an engine for the Cafe bike at the beginning, and wanted to fit an Ac 400, but couldn't find one anywhere, so bought and used a Pv engine instead. Dusty

Hi Still a work in progress although not much to do now. Steve linked it above - it's the rd-tz-lc thread in the resto section. Plenty of pics to show what was done. Dusty

Put a ypvs motor in one. Same mounts as Lc. Front frame mounts can be utilised. Tears need chopping out and re making. Cross member on the bottom of the frame need channeling out to fit torsion bars browser mouse event test page

Hi Certainly "C" models onwards, and maybe earlier, but go for a frame with the bolt on right front frame bracket - it will be a lot easier getting the engine in and out. The Cafe bike uses a 250d frame. Dusty
