Not wierd for us lot but I got a new more powerful bench grinder. It's amazing how much I used my old less powerful one, so I'm quite happy. Also got a tin of WD40 so that will come in handy too. And some drill bits. π

Chickens! Live ones, as in grow your own Christmas dinner.
Wifey has been nagging for them for months, so bought her a coop and chickens. She then decided we where going halves on them (meaning it is now my job to de-poo them every day). Got them a week or so ago...

Good luck with the chickens ! A couple of years back, my daughter kept on about getting 2 chickens, and I finally relented. Couldn't believe how much shit they produce !! And rats !! I counted 6 in their run one day when the chickens were out in the garden Get yourself a decent air rifle if you keep chickens !! Nice having fresh eggs every day though Dusty

Amongst other things a new spice grinder for my curries. We had 6 hens and a bantam c**kerel ( poor little thing shagged himself to death) as dusty says rats will burrow the under the coop when they all Finally passed never replaced them. You need to check as well on avian flu etc good luck

My daughter wanted ducks originally. They will turn your garden into something resembling the Somme/Passchendaele in a short period of time. The chicken shit was bad enough - bigger turds than the dog could produce, but ducks and Geese are on another level when it comes to poo ! The rats were the final straw, especially when they started chewing their way into the old shed to get to the feed, and the chickens were found a new home. No more rat problem after that. Dusty

Haha, no. They were only about a year old so we gave them away free to another owner of chickens. Shame as they were quite entertaining to keep and very friendly. Just couldn't be doing with rats everywhere Dusty
