They are awesome bikes Baz I always wanted one too, finally got one, via ebay. I had to check the date - 8 years ago now ! new forest 2012 009 by dusty miller, on Flickr They can suffer with reg/rectifier melt downs - mine showed signs of problems with that in the past, but I think you can get uprated parts from places like Electrex. Bullet proof engines and more grunt than a field full of pigs !! Enjoy Dusty

They were a real favourite with the drag racing guys. The engine was bomb proof and very tuneable, and all the fast bikes were running with the big Suzuki engines. I used to go to Santa Pod back in the 80's for the Ultimate Streetbike race series run by Superbike magazine. This is Steve Burn's turbo Gsx; Drag Gsx by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

I love it, I was on the lookout a few months ago for one, I picked up A 1989 Gixxer 11 for free from a neighbor, he was on his way to the dump with it and he stopped at my gaff, Asked if I had any use for it, I said absolutely, Wheeled it out the back, whipped off the carbs, They are shot, completely rotten, Had an old set of 750 carbs, threw them on and fired in some juice and away she went, Purring like a kitten, So know Im going to strip it and fighter it, Its not worth trying to restore.. I was hoping to get a GS1100 and use the engine and wheels etc on it,

Chris Tombleson at Grumpy 1260, is always worth speaking to regarding old Suzuki's and Kawasaki's. Really knowledgeable guy. Rob

I did a Classic Track Day on it at Cadwell, and my only advice is........ don't lol. The biggest problem it its weight, wasn't horrendous in the corners, good on the straights but trying to stop it was nigh on impossible. It had so much inertia that braking from high speeds just induced tyre screech and wheel locking with very little slowing down

Often do track days on my Z1000r Lawson, far more fun then on modern bikes. Mind you getting the exhaust scraping at Park, got me twitching.
