Only had one 2K painted in the past, but was very easily chipped compared to powder coat. Would not do paint again.

I would go with powder every time for the reason Dusty mentions. It will get into every nook and cranny as its electrostatically attracted. If you’ve ever painted a frame you’ll know just how difficult it is to get paint evenly everywhere.
Difficult = you pay for someone’s expertise to paint it properly.

Swings and roundabouts. The powder jobs that I've had done seem to be about 1/4" thick so you lose detail. Masking is extremely important as it's harder than kryptonite. Had a pair of wheels done once and they painted over the disc mounting points - that was a night mare so if you do go powder make sure they are going to mask it properly. Some of my wheels still look good in powder coat many years later. The ones on my car look like crap after 2 years so I'm not sure. I will be wet painting my frame myself to make sure it's done properly. I will take the time to set the gun up properly so that I can get the paint into all of the nooks and crannies without fear of causing runs and pools in the more prominent areas. Best to be done with a detail gun as well, especially in the tighter areas. When I wet paint things they look amazing. My wheels that I did on my old escort used to have people stop and look at them, they looked that good. Powder coat looks ok though and is far more durable.

Powder coating for sure. Gets to the places paint won't, and it's tough as f**k. The choice for industrial applications for a reason.

Thanks for all the input chaps , I was in the paint game for many years hence why everything I had was painted 😉 ..I've dropped my frame etc. off yesterday to an old boy who's been doing powder coating for years and knows bikes , he suggested I don't have 100% gloss on the frame and he will tone it a bit to be in keeping with a 45 year old bike , so hopefully I will be converted 👍🏻
