rd250lc clutch pushrod worm drive correct fitting????

Hi everyone , help needed

i have destroyed my original plastic worm drive on the stator case ...

i've now got a replacement BUT my question is it has 2 collars 1 long est 8/10mm and 1 short est 5mm

which is the correct way of fitting into the stator case long or short in first ?
