I need a working bike dammit! So I might be selling this... It'll be a sad day for me. This beastie has been my daily drive for seven years, now been parked up on a SORN since last winter. Should I sell her? What do you think lads? Alex

Do you have other wheels? Do you need a 4x4? Will you go A, I wish I’d never sold her or B. I do miss her but by god having a bike is better for my soul? Or C. I’ve too many project bikes maybe I should clear some of them?

WTF is it? A Tonka for adults?
Winter is around the corner...selling it for 2 wheels is something you might rue whilst lying on the side of the pavement when the council says it has no money for grit post covid or brexit or someother f**king excuse.

Its a beauty! I'd buy it off you if I lived in the UK Alex.
I echo what the others have said. Only ever sell something you are mentally 'finished with' or you will regret it.

Jon said " Only ever sell something you are mentally 'finished with' or you will regret it."
I sold my 98 R1 a few days ago. I took it out for an hour plus ride a couple of months ago and with my age and condition after ten minutes on it all I could think about was its gunna take me another 10 minutes to get home.
The only thing going for it now in my eyes was its a good investment. Sure its nice to look at but the extra space is welcome and I can't really afford to maintain it properly. It will be well looked after and I was happy with the price.
The Slabby is next. It's even more uncomfortable than the R1.

Another thing Veg, however morbid this sounds .
I asked myself. "What would happen to that (anything)if I died tomorrow?"
If the answer is in the rubbish bin. Then its going on ebay or market place. Beer money.....

I don’t think your doing it any favours just parked up. It’ll just start to deteriorate. Your obviously not using it anyway and we’re heading for autumn.

Hi Alex You have had more than your fair share of issues with the jeep in recent times, and I don't think that will ever change to be honest. Some vehicles take a lot more to keep them going and reliable, and I think you will always be having to do something to it. You definitely need a reliable car for your visits to Mum and for work. If you can get a decent price for it, I would let it go, and either buy yourself a decent bike or have the funds to build and finish one of the projects - the Lc I would say. I would also flog the other projects, if you can get a decent return, and consolidate the lot into something you really want and can use straight away. I know what it's like to have too many projects, and not enough time or money to finish any of them. It gets really frustrating. You could have a nice Z to ride and the Lc to build, plus you already have a decent car to drive. More room in the garage too. What do you think the Jeep is worth ? If you know that, you can look at bikes on ebay and see what you could get for your money. That would make selling a bit easier on the "heart strings" !! Good luck Dusty

Beer money..... Simple , its called a will. Did mine a couple of yrs back with instructions for the Mrs on what is what and who to ask for any info on bits that I haven't labelled. Stuff will go to enthusiasts only.

Well, for now the issue of keeping or selling her has gone. A forum member has kindly offered me the use of a bike until the weather turns too manky to ride. I was gobsmacked to say the least! It should be here next week and I'll pop up some pictures. I just need to insure it, not a problem!
Still amazes me how great this forum actually is. The kindness of everyone here makes it very unique.
Alex
Oh and it's a Suzuki LJ80, heavily modified, Vitara 1.6 lump with Weber carb and Yoshi end can, Vitara rear end on coils, front is SJ413 on SPOA. 6" suspension lift on Pro Comps, 6" body lift. Body widened with steel by 12". 33" mud tyres, custom interior, the list goes on. Last insured with an agreed value of £10K.

Stuff will go to enthusiasts only. I worked with a company that specialised in collectables such as military ,coins and banknotes, anything really. I seen it all the time. Somebody would come in with their great uncles war medals or grand fathers coin collection .They wanted cash and weren't prepared to find out what things were worth. They practically gave it away. All dealers I knew could pick in about 20 seconds who they are dealing with. At the moment im selling 4 old fuel tanks from bikes I'll never own ,an upper fairing from some suzuki and yesty I sold the front part of a bandit seat for a box of beer. Life is good

In the highest a vehicle has ever been? You could always lend a hand to the coastguard on quicksand beaches with it!!
