Hi I am hoping someone can give some some ideas on what is wrong with my 350lc.
The bike is standard, all the carbs are fine. the bowls or on the correct carb and so are the sliders. the bike has done 12k miles from new and never been apart.
NO for the issue. i have seen this issue on here before but didnt find the answer.
The bike runs ok at low rev and sputters when you open the throttle like from the first minute of riding. it seems then to sputter to 6k revs and then wont pull past 7k revs. the plugs are black which suggest rick running but the oil pump and carbs are set as standard. I was thinking this might be crank seals however could this be weak power from the CDI unit ??. If so how do i check its operating correctly ??.
I am pulling my hair out ( whats left ) completely fed up that i cant enjoy the bike anymore. All suggestion welcome

Hi
3 questions
1 - have you removed and cleaned the emulsion tubes
2 - have you removed and cleaned the air correction jet behind the large brass ball at the carb airbox side mouth
3 - have you tested the meter readings for the pick up, high speed and low speed windings

emulsion tubes are clear, as all the airways are including the jets. I havent cleaned the air correction jet behind the large brass ball at the carb airbox side mouth i will have a look at that. your 3rd question relates to a YPVS i think ?? mines a 4L0

Afraid the LC has hi and lo speed windings that feed the cdi too as far as I know

You would need a manual with the resistance readings you are looking for and a test meter

Definitely remove those brass balls and clean the air correction circuit. Plenty of threads on here about it. My money is on that!

You will find this in other threads, but here for quick ref...
The readings are;
Pickup coil (white/Red to black wire - 87 ohms +/- 10% at 20c Low speed windings - 271 ohms +/- 10% at 20c High Speed windings - 5.1 ohms +/- 10% at 20c
The wires can be found under the seat, they are in a block connector and go from your stator to the cdi
