Good afternoon When I last rode my F2,upon shutting the throttle the revs didn,t immediately drop they took a time to get down to where they should be,it wasn,t much fun riding through traffic. It was suggested I might have an air leak or sticking throttle ,the throttle cable moves fine with no snagging.I took off the reed blocks last owner ? hadn,t used a gasket just gasket sealant and they had tightened the bolts up with god know's what,I had to put mole grips on the Allen key as an extension to undo them , I thought the key was going to break .So possibly that may have been the problem. Would or could worn carb needles and emulsion tube have the same effect ,ie hanging rpm . Thanks

Agreed check throttle cable routing isn't causing a jam and take carbs off and give good clean. Sort the gasket out too at same time they cheap as chips.

If all else is ok, maybe look for an air leak. Carb rubbers, crank seal (flywheel side). When on tick over, spray some WD40 and see what happens to the revs.

Had a similar issue a while back and it turned out to be the vacuum pipe for the fuel tap. It had almost come completely away from the spigot on the carb. Tap would only work on prime. Worth a check.
