anybody a rough idea on how much this is asking as ourlass back into somebodys car today (driving her friends car out the drive and backing into there neighbours car) so cant claim on insurance as shes not insured to drive that car anyhow car shes crashed into dent in bumper and lad says car not driving right when cornering and braking i suspect a slightly bent chassi back leg it will need a new bumper its a citreon c3 cactus if that makes any odds any ideas im expecting around 3k ish bless her thou she is absolute worried sick

The victim will always claim that their car is worse than it really is
Make sure to see or ask the repairer what pre-existing damage was there before, so you are not paying for that too, them mention of the word “lad” is a bit of a giveaway

I would normally agree with hblair, but you may have to bite the bullet as, in your own words "cant claim on insurance as shes not insured to drive that car" this gives the owner of the car that was driven into a lot of leverage. I always remember (from working at the accident repair center) insurance companies been reluctant to go down the route of jigging cars, apart from either very new or higher end cars due to the costs involved. It can be a very labour intensive process just mounting and unmounting it onto the jig.

I've had 2 cars "jigged" over the years.
Both T boned, both were never the same again
It's probably just a bent arm
I had a Skoda Superb that drove lovely untill I was absolutely battering down a country road and saw a lorry coming the other way.
Lifted off and started braking then thought "I'll fit through there"
Last minute I noticed a rock sticking out from the grass verge so feck all I could do but clip it (well I wasn't going to choose the lorry)
Carried on ten miles to to where I was going with a bit of vibration
Egg on the side wall and slight buckle on the wheel
After that was sorted the car never fealt as "centred" at speed and it would destroy the inner edge of tyres so kicked up a fuss with the lease company and they agreed to get it on a proper 4 wheel alignment checker (Think it was about £120 at a main dealer)
It came back that the nsf was running too much negative camber but was 0.1mm inside tolerance (tolerance was 2mm) after some tweaking so they wouldn't replace the arm or strut.
The moral to this is don't believe him. Pay to get it to a main dealer and get it checked
When you see the report it will tell all.
Don't pay for knackered bushes, that's wear and tear. Bent arms, struts or wheels are another thing but only if the wheels aren't potholed to sh1t
Reversing into a parked car doesn't usually bend much
Think hitting a big pothole at 30 mph feeling like a wheel is coming off yet they are fine
Your other option is offer the lad £2k and sign a waiver and tell him you don't give a sh1t where or if he gets it repaired
Amazing what a lad will be persuaded to do if he thinks he can get a back street shop to patch it up for 1 grand and have another in his pocket
And more to the point, what the feck is a "lad" doing with a c3 Cactus
