Hello I am after some information about refitting the needle jet to my Mikuni 10w carb which I have just noticed that one side of the jet has 3 holes and the other side has 2 holes, which way round should this be fitted with the 3 holes facing the engine or the 2 holes facing the engine or does it not matter ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Shouldn't the carb body have a locating brass pin protruding to locate the needle jet and stop it spinning, you shouldn't be able to fit wrongly unless the locating pin is not there or has pushed through to the other side.

As Tony has pointed out it will only fit and seat one way
there is a small recess in the brass body that will line up in the channel in the carb

Thanks for the replies but I think I may have used the wrong word I was meant to say jet nozzle which has no locations on the nozzle for reference.

Sorry I am new to the forum and not sure how to add pictures. Do you mean the nozzle or emulsion tube, ie the part the main jet screws into, can't think of anything else you could be talking about.

Yes the part that you can view when looking through the carb from one end to the other and the needle goes inside of it and is located below the main jet holder. Thanks

Thanks Then its as I said in the first place mate, should have a brass locating pin in the carb body, and the needle jet should have a little cut out at the bottom where the main jet screws in. Edit these two bits should line up.

There is no locating pins or holes in the carb body or the nozzle and the nozzle is a total circle both ends and this is the issue so it can be fitted any way round with no location.

I did a needle jet on a Mukini carb (10v) Just a interference fit. If it’s a B type then wouldn’t thought holes matter as fuel drawn up around jet
