Has anyone else noticed that the black/brown measurement is always outside the 271 +/- 10% ohms range? I just measured a few and all are around 235 ohms?
Perhaps the Haynes manual is wrong? or all the coils were originally wound with too low a resistance?
These were taken off working bikes, so not faulty.

I use the 235 ohms reading, I've never seen one at 271 ohms TBH, if they read 225 or lower I tend to find they are faulty

Perhaps it is a typo and should be 231 +/- 10%

Yamaha service manual says 271.
I lucked into an original dealer issue copy the other day.

Yep.
I have two here from running bikes. 236 and 242. The 242 is from a very low mileage engine.
