totally standard 2005 125RS apart from 2 carb jet's that needed replacing to standard and purchased from an Aprilia dealer, floats set,air jet set,new air filter, power valve removed and cleaned standard exhaust brand new spark plug etc etc....only thing I have found different is the Crab slide is a 40 and not 50 as specified anyplace I look. bike starts very easy hot or cold , idle's correctly but will not rev past 8k and when riding the bike will not pass 5k , hit's powerband in 1st gear and as soon as second is quickly selected it BOG's down and lose's power...………..ANY HELP APPRECIATED PLEASE starting to do my head in ZiG

Forgive me, but if it has 2 wrong jets and a wrong slide, then it is not standard surely, I think if the rest is standard but these bits aren't, then that is where to start, put them right before trying anything else would be my advice.
Also I have bought faulty new plugs, plug caps, points (I know you don't have points but just to say) you can't say its working correctly until you know its working correctly if you know what I mean, just because its new doesn't mean its right.
Though it does sound like carb problem.

On the Delorto carb there are a couple of things to check Filter on the side of the carb. It gets clogged Carb spring, is it allowing the slide to open fully There is a power jet, pilot jet, main jet and another in the drain plug. Are they all clear Is the choke releasing Are you running a B9 or B10 grade plug ? Either way try a new one
Will it rev OK in neutral ?
Is the fuel tap flowing properly ?
1 thing I am assuming is that it hasn't seized in the past and the piston & ring are not damaged

Cheers for the reply as I got a look and set up the carb this is were I spotted the jet difference and as I said these were then replaced through an Aprilia dealer who also confirmed they were wrong,my thought is that someone along the line has thought the carb was the problem and simply swapped it not knowing the swap had been tampered with....but I would point at the carb at the moment again it's a friends bike and with the lockdown there is only so much I can do apart from getting him to try this and that over the phone...difficult times but today is another day ZiG
