Good day all: I have an oil pump of the RD400. 1A0 is engraved in the pulley and this pump does not have a priming wheel. It has a dot of pink paint on the JIS screw. Question is, will this work on a 1975 RD350B? If not, what are the parts that need to be replaced in order to make it work? I am restoring an RD350B and the OEM oil pump is MIA. Thanks for your help.

The most important marking are not in the pulley but on the plastic gear . Then you need to ensure the worm drive matches the pump. Being larger cylinder you would expect a 400 pump to over oil, but perhaps not by much. Gary (Arrow ) is the guy to really ask.

Hi, the pink spot 400e/f pump is not suitable the gear inside having 40 teeth. The gear inside the 350b pump should have 55 teeth, it should also have a 521 pulley. I have however seen different gears in these pumps for different markets. Can you post a photo of the wormshaft in a similar fashion to the photo below, so we can double check. Do you have the gear that drives the wormshaft? It should be code; 278 with 21 teeth. Regardless of what you have/don't have, it can be sorted.

It Might be a USA 350B not a UK/EU 350B. What’s the difference in the second and third photo...no big obvious diferece to the untrained eye?

From top; 1, runs with a 40 tooth gear. 2, runs with a 55 tooth gear. 3, runs with a 62 tooth gear.

Yes, the 250e/f wormshaft at the bottom has a larger diameter at the business end.

Many thanks for yours above, very much appreciated. Please see attached. This is the worm gear that I have. Strangely, the plastic helical gear has 4L0 stamped on it, so I assume it it of an LC. I also have a spare plastic helical gear that has 278 stamped on it. IMG_2576[1]
