Guys, my F1 build has a set of carbs that i assume are from a F2 (powerjet with the pipe running up the side?) im i right in thinking standard jetting is 185 for these?
They had 220 in which i assume are from when they were on a bike with pipes etc

Yes 1ua carbs were 185 main
You can check what the carbs are as will be stamped 1ua 00 or 10
Think the difference was one has removable power jets, the others are pressed in
4ce had the same carbs but were stamped 4ce and had no vacuum take off. Be aware these have a 25 pj not the 55 of the 1ua
The 220 main could be pipes or they are 4ce and over jetted to compensate for the smaller pj.
Also they don't like running without an airbox so the way around that is to block the pj and change the main jet to compensate
For that reason check that there isn't a ball bearing shoved up the link pipe from float bowl to carb body 😉

Asking because I've got a vacuuum pipe on the RH carb... What model uses 4ce carbs? What jetting should I go for? Standard motor 1ua barrels, standard F1 pipes

4ce was the 350r which didn't have a vacuum fuel tap so I thought it didn't have the brass vacuum spigot on the inside of the right carb but I may be wrong
I think they had a 25 pj so I'd go 210/220 ish on the main

Steve, you were right about the vacuum take off, the hose was pushed into a blank casting, I've drilled the carb and bonded in a brass take off spigot

Reading up regarding the power jet, 1UA have right - 65 left - 60 where as the R has 25 in both so want to check whats in mine, where is the jet located, cant seem to find any diagrams etc on the net, and can you buy the jets? Thinking of going to 1UA spec with the carbs as the barrels and CDI are 1UA or do you think just stick with the 220 main? www.rd350lc.net/Carbrd350r.jpg

the PJ's are in the float bowl spigot that comes off at the bottom on an angle and the pipe between the carb body and float bowl attaches to

I'd stick with the R's as decent carbs are getting pricey
31k's had a 240 main jet
1ua's had 185 plus the pj
Only benefit was leaning out the midrange for emissions I reckon
As long as you are jetted to roughly 240 (they were jetted safe) you will be fine
The Yamaha deristriction instructions were simply knock the restrictor out the exhaust and up the main jet
They ran fine
