The last one did not do as well as previously
I know he says the pattern ones ain't the same but there is very little actual difference
Strange stating that when the gold lettering is the same thing really
£500 buys and paints a pattern one 🤔

He says the gold was perhaps Aussie... it wasnt. JDM is the only place I can see that working and Xavier would be the guy to confirm it.

I have never seen these YAMAHA gold letter on any OEM markets worldwide, and I have seen a couple of them in OES, but don't know if it's a NOS or NNS... The part number would help. Even on the following new kits made by YAMAHA Ys Gear for JAPAN, letters are not gold. Those gold letters are a mystery for me !!! Xavier

I have seen a NOS one with gold lettering in someone's NOS stash. It was still in the box, so may have a part number still on it...

Unless your absolutely anal about the bike, and it has to be Gen, I wouldn't even consider this, repo tank all day long The market for Gen tanks has contracted due to an alternative source becoming available, at a realistic price .

To me it looks like the decals are airbrushed on - the surface looks too smooth. I always thought that on the original stuff it was decals on paint and then cleared over the lot, leaving ridges and bumps where the deacls are. I may wrong though.

Listing ended with no bids on it?
There’s a surprise.
I get the fact it’s NOS, but who would want the gold lettering if you were that particular about a resto? Surely they’d have to pay paint on top of that, and that defeats the object?

Its about the right price for a NOS gen yam tank £700 If it's exactly what you want colour wise, and you HAVE to have a genuine, then maybe ......otherwise its worth nothing near that.

Can you imagine how hard it would be to track down the rest of the bodywork to match?
That’s even if it ever existed?
I have an RD tail piece in white three stripe. I know its OEM (bought before replacements were available) but don’t know if it’s NOS or just exceptional condition.
I quite like the idea of doing my latest LC hybrid in this colour scheme. Trouble is do I use it as is or try and match it. My thinking is it will never be 100% match and I’d prefer lacquered over on the rest, so I may never use it? Shame this tank seems in the same league?
