I did one on my F1 with PWKs.... so not helpful maybe... but my advice is that its a lot of work to save a lean-down-and-pull-push scenario on a unfaired standard carbed bike.

Maybe adapt a 1KT cable choke setup to fit? I think a few of the parts are NLA, so you'll have to find a used one or get lucky on ebay

I had one on a Tzr125 Belgarda, with a Pv engine and carbs fitted. Due to the frame spars, you couldn't easily reach the choke knob on the 31k carbs - nearly impossible with gloves on, and a knuckle skinner without. It had a system fitted that worked well - don't know if was standard Belgarda. Look at the "Ugly betty" thread in the resto section - pics might be in there but it was a good few years back now so cant remember for sure. I might even still have the choke cable set up somewhere ?? Dusty

Not much of a hassle to reach down and pull the knob A lot of hassle to fit a cable choke Easiest option is to fit carbs from the 350R as it had a cable operated, fairing mounted choke You can't just fit the mechanism as the hole and thread are bigger on the 4ce carbs. Whether you can adapt the 4ce cable plunger to fit I don't know As jonw says I have also done it to pwk's using tzr plungers, a universal throttle cable from venhill and the switchgear housing from an old xv/xs Steve

Should say the only benefit from doing it ( other than it being a slight pain to pull both plungers on the pwk's) is that you can have a little choke instead of the off/on choice with the knob
Full open to start then back off to warm up or ride off

Also running PWK's. I have an early R6 (5EB) LH switchgear. Built in choke lever and looks neat.

You could use a set of 350 R power jet carbs, that use a choke cable set up.

Even with PWK carbs fitted, and two choke knobs, in reality you only ever need to pull the one, just as well as the RH Carb one is inaccessible

I made my own cable from stuff i had lying around.

thanks for all the replies folks, handlebar set ups is what i was looking for,im fitting the motor into a lambretta historically they have a problem keeping the motor cooled when there in a tin box! a thumb choke would be handy just so if things get a bit warm i can give it a bit of choke to cool it down

I'd have to have a look down the shed. It was ages ago I sold the bike but I took the engine and carbs out for something else so I may still have the cable choke. I will have a look down the shed in the next day or 2 Dusty

I used a mountain bike Fork lockout switch on my hybrid, fastened to handlebar, modified old KR1s choke cable to fit that came with PWK's I bought.

No problem. I've got a shed full of random bits, in spite of regular clear outs ! And, as is usual for me, stuff I now need was outed back in the summer coz I thought I would never use it - how wrong I was Dusty
