powder coating not a good job

i took my front wheel to be coated picked it up today and was not impressed had a few words and told them what i thought of the job i am having to get it redone somwhere else here are a few pics






it might be hard to see but there are little holes on the rim and no colour in ends he told me to get a can of yellow paint and touch them up i cant repeat what i told him

i use these guys top job every time and they mask off all the thread holes

i took it to a local firm your powder coater is a bit to far to go thanks anyway

we do powder coating at my work,i can say eactly whats been done,firstly it wasnt acid dipped or blasted properly (can see old paint under neith) the "dry" finish is caused by a thin top coat and more than likley no primer coat.
not the worst ive seen but yes its pretty poor but before i criticise it too much if the wheel was realy realy badly corroded it wont ever look muck better due to the alloy going porus causing pits etc.

many places do do a mail order dervice where you send it to them and they send it back

ok mate the wheel was in good condition i have been in touch with a firm in castleford who said they can do the job and the wheel will be spot on i am taking it next week and will let you know how it goes

Nothing more dissapointing than getting your bits back from having work done and finding it to be shit, once you find a decent coater stick with them for sure. Agree with above but tap/wrench set your best bet.

we put tapered rubber bungs in all threads,them threads are covered in powder but as there being re-done they will be ok once its dipped in acid.truley bad job there
