Custom build YPVS 350

Asking for advise on a couple of choices with my custom build. Firstly I started the project over 20 years ago and was building a lightweight Aluminium tubed frame for the road based on the geometry of a NWS sound of singles racer with clip ons and full fairing etc. Today I have had a rethink and want a naked machine and normal LC 350 look with raised handlebars more of a flat tracker look. Trouble is without a fairing I have removed the location I was planning for the remote radiator filler cap and the power valve servo which would have been fitted on the nose fairing on a fabricated mount. With out a fairing, and the LC 350 style headlamp now fitted to the stanchions betwen the yokes and with clocks fitted to the top yoke I have a no space. If I went for a LC rad which although bigger than the YPVS one it does away with the remote filler cap and then have to make a small modification to accommodate the bypass water pipe from the head, or I buy an aluminium YPVS rad and weld an aluminium filler cap boss to it and modify the top inlet at least this keeps the rad slim which is really what I want as space and clearance is tight. Does the N2/f2 have a slim rad with the filler welded on the rad itself? If I could work out how to post a few pictures on this forum it would help explain. Secondly in light of the space issues for the power valve servo, the fact that the power valves, the bushings the joiner are all completely worn out, the barrels are race tuned and one set of barrels is Fahron I believe and both need a rebore and new pistons,I was thinking of going back to LC days and fit a couple of AZ Quad parts standard Banshee cylinders and pistons am not looking to build the ultimate Yamaha but a nice machine to pop out on occasionally. What are anyone’s thoughts on these can they be tuned and fettled by and expert and who would that someone be?

Welcome to the forum
Flikr works well for me, and a lot of other members use it with no probs. Tapatalk is another that guys use and you can upload direct from your phone I believe. Mark did a great tutorial if it helps you;

All Pv rads are the same layout regards remote filler, so if you use a Pv rad you will be modding it I think. I'm building a bike where there was no room for the Pv servo so I have locked the valves open - not ideal but the general consensus is the engine will behave more like an Lc which I can happily live with !! Cables can be made to any length so the servo could live in the tail unit maybe ? And custom rads can be made to any shape or size if needed. If you can get your pics up it will help guys give you advice. And stick your posts in the main forum as more peeps will see it

I would steer clear of standard banshee cylinders as not very powerful

I'd stick with ypvs cylinders but fix the pv's so you can choose how the power delivery is

Check out dusty's tz/rd build in the rebuilds section to see what he did

As for a radiator check a tdr250 radiator as similar to ypvs but has a filler on it. Don't know how thin it is
